Mosaic making is a passionate empowering experience. Find out how easy it is to be creative!! Kay has facilitated many workshops for adults (and children) in the health and learning field, and now offers beginners mosaic workshops and mentoring.

🎨🎨  A Mosaic Making Workshop for Children  🎨🎨
🎨🎨  A beginners workshop for children 5-14 years old  🎨🎨


(Bookings and payment are required in order to attend the workshop)

The aim is help children to appreciate mosaics and have a practice experience of making their own.
We will demonstrate, practice and explain in easy- to-follow steps, the process of mosaic making.

The workshop will:
βœ… Demonstrate how to work safely when cutting glass, china or tiles,
use of protective clothing. masks, gloves
βœ…  How to plan and design a mosaic:
βœ…  the type of board used (called the substrate),
βœ…  the different types of individual pieces used in mosaics (the tesserae)
βœ…  the glues and grout
βœ…  use three sample boards to cut, and stick teaching basic techniques.
βœ…  Create two mosaics: using direct method on a plate cutting, sticking and using three sample boards and plate; and using the indirect method on mesh. 
βœ…  You will create a design or use a picture of something you’d like to mosaic. 
βœ…  You’ll leave inspired and with your own sample boards and one mosaic on mesh.

❗❗❗❗ What to Bring: ❗❗❗❗
Your lunch, water bottle, an old dinner plate, (flat as possible) any β€˜found’ or favourite objects, for use in your designed
piece. Please wear covered-in shoes , comfortable old clothes and an old rag for cleaning.

Parents of 5-9 year old children can participate with their child or have a sibling come to participate with them. ($20 for second person).

We need a minimum number of SIX paid up participants by the 24 th September 2018.
If this number is not reached, we reserve the right to postpone the workshop.
